Thursday 9 February 2023 Performing Poetry! After half term our whole school topic is performing poetry. We will be reading aloud and performing many different styles of poems across all year groups. Our whole school challenge is for children to learn by heart a poem at home and then perform it to their class on World Book Day, Thursday 2nd March. Classes will then vote for a member of their class to perform their poem in assembly. Below are some poems you could choose from.

Thursday 9 February 2023 WOW! The children were very excited to have a special visit from Strider, the WOW Mascot after school today. Strider visited both the KS1 and KS2 Playgrounds in order to meet and greet children on their way home. Strider was very happy to hear how many of our children were being active on their way to and from school by walking, scooting or if this isn’t possible parking a little further away from school and walking the rest of the way.

Thursday 19 January 2023 Year 2 Zoolab! Year 2 had an exciting day as they got to explore the world of small and interesting animals with Zoolab! From snails to snakes, and even tarantulas, the children were able to see and learn about a variety of fascinating creatures up close.

Thursday 26 May 2022 Ambleside 2022! An absolutely fantastic few days with our amazing Year 6 children! This was the perfect way to begin the end of their time at Crossley Fields and we couldn’t be prouder of them. They conquered fears, worked as a team, were full of laughter and smiles and bundles of fun. Ambleside 2022 should live long in the memory!

Tuesday 10 May 2022 Anglo-Saxons in Year 4! Yesterday Year 4 had an Anglo-Saxon visitor! They learned about the history of Anglo-Saxons and the objects, and clothing that they would have used. They also investigated the archeology boxes, had a go at archery, and practiced their defences using shields!

Thursday 28 April 2022 Romans in Year 3! Today year 3 had some special Roman visitors! They have had the opportunity to look at Roman objects, dress in Roman costumes and play games that the Romans would have played amongst other exciting activities!
